WEBINAR: Current Review of Chlorate and Perchlorate in Food
Findings, Legal Situation and Challenges for the Future
Jan 2020. In recent times, high concentrations of chlorate residues have been repeatedly detected in food, e.g. in fish products, and affected products have been recalled as a precautionary measure. Chlorate and perchlorate are chlorine compounds that are undesirable in food due to their toxicological relevance. Chlorate is a common byproduct of many frequently used chlorine-based disinfectants. The evaluation bases of both substances are currently being revised.
In this webinar you will get an overview of the current legal situation and the impact of potential limit values for selected product groups, such as vegetables, spices, tea, fish and milk powder. Check whether the discussed legal changes for chlorate and perchlorate might have implications for the goods you are producing and learn about upcoming challenges for the future.
- Significance of chlorate and perchlorate in food safety management
- Latest regulative developments
- Findings in different products over the years
- Challenges for the future
At the end of the webinar there will be time for your individual questions.
