In addition to regulatory compliance testing and certification, it is important for brand owners and retailers to ensure that products perform as designed and are fit-for use.

Eurofins' breadth of testing services allows us to offer bespoke solutions through a single point of contact for your electrical and electronics products; ranging from electrical safety through to food contact, VOC emissions testing and fit-for-use testing.

Some requirements are forced by regional, national and international regulations, others are voluntary schemes which are governments, retailer or end-user led.

Performance and benchmarking

Endurance and accelerated life testing

We can test your products to pre-defined cycles of use, load tests (electrical, mechanical etc.); simulating and, where applicable, accelerating the product’s lifetime in normal conditions of use.

Energy efficiency

Energy efficiency testing is available according to regulations and/or schemes on Energy Related Products (ErP). These are particularly applicable to consumer product ranges such as household and domestic appliances, IT equipment, Multimedia and Audio/Video, and Lighting.

Energy Star^® testing

Initiated by the US Environment Protection Agency (EPA) and implemented in Europe through the EU Energy Efficiency Directive 2012/27/EU, Energy Star^® is a voluntary program.

Despite being voluntary, many government bodies, institutions and commercial organisations have made it mandatory to purchase products with an energy star^® rating. We perform testing for Energy Star^® energy efficiency testing for a wide range of office products.

EcoDesign and Energy Labelling

We can test your products against the EU Ecodesign and energy labelling Directive 2009/125/EC, expressing the Commission’s commitment towards energy efficiency.
