What the Food Industry needs to know now

In recent weeks, the emetic Bacillus cereus toxin cereulide has drawn global attention due to multiple product recalls. Many producers across the food industry are now asking themselves whether their own products could also be affected and what practical steps they can take to assess and reduce this risk.

This webinar addresses many of the key questions the industry is currently facing. We provide an up‑to‑date overview of the latest developments in cereulide contamination and explain their implications for food manufacturers, retailers, and quality managers. We will provide you with expert insights into the most likely contamination routes, as well as an assessment of which food categories may continue to be at risk. Importantly, we will show you how targeted testing strategies and practical experimental approaches can support companies to minimise risk effectively and make informed decisions about their specific products. Our experts will demonstrate how we support and advise companies in crisis situations. They will also explain how our extensive laboratory capacities enable immediate response, including rush and even same‑day analysis.

Participants will receive a detailed introduction to the full range of analytical solutions for detecting and quantifying cereulide. All methods presented are fully accredited and aligned with the latest requirements published by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and DG Sante, ensuring regulatory compliance and high‑quality results. These methods are suitable for both regular QC analyses and official control samples. Based on the EFSA statement, the legal assessment of contamination will also be discussed. To conclude the webinar, attendees will receive a concise overview of the latest microbiological detection methods for identifying emetic Bacillus cereus strains, offering a comprehensive insight into the available monitoring tools.

If you have any questions afterwards, our experts will be available for a dedicated Q&A session and will be happy to share their insights with you.
