Free webinar recording on phosphonic acid and its origin

March 2023. The BIOFACH 2023 traditionally took place in February again this year and of course we were there again. We thank all visitors and customers for the intensive exchange at our booth. The conversations we were able to have with you there in person and the professional exchange are always a highlight for us.

In addition to our presence as an exhibitor, we were again part of the official BIOFACH congress programme and received great response to the technical lecture by Dr Werner Nader. You could not attend our lecture or have attended and would like to view the slides presented? Due to high demand, we offer the lecture here as a free webinar on demand:

Findings of phosphonic acid in organic products are interpreted as residues of possible illicit agricultural applications of the fungicides sodium and potassium phosphonate or fosetyl-Al. In the webinar, Dr Werner Nader will present a study based on published scientific findings and an anonymous evaluation of the data from the Eurofins laboratories for food and feed testing in Germany. This shows that there are more entry routes for phosphonic acid than just agricultural applications. These may be of natural origin or can be possibly traced back to household and industrial contaminations. In many cases, the interpretation of the findings as pesticide residues is therefore not justified. The results of the study can be viewed in the scientific journal "Food Control", Elsevier publishing company.
