EU Commission Approved Two Genetically Modified Stacked Events
MON 87427 x MON 89034 x NK603 Maize and 1507 x 59122 x MON 810 x NK603 Maize
August 2018. On 03.08.2018 the EU Commission approved the two genetically modified stacked events
- MON 87427 x MON 89034 x NK603 maize and
- 1507 x 59122 x MON 810 x NK603 maize (trade name: Optimum Intrasect XTRA)
for food and feed use. In addition, the existing authorisations for DAS-59122-7 maize, GA21 maize and H7-1 sugar beet have been renewed.
The stacked event 1507 x 59122 x MON 810 x NK603 maize is tolerant to the herbizides glufosinate and glyphosate and has insect resistance.
The stacked event MON 87427 x MON 89034 x NK603 maize is tolerant to the herbizid glyphosate and has an insect resistance.
Both stacked events are already approved in several countries, according to CropLive International a cultivation takes place in the USA. As for all GMOs authorised in the EU, these GMOs must also be labeled above the limit of 0.9 % in food and feed.
