Eurofins Moves into New Laboratory Building at Am Neuländer Gewerbepark

July 2019. Completing a construction phase of nearly two years, the new laboratory building is now ready for occupancy. The official opening of the sixth company-owned building on the laboratory campus in Hamburg-Harburg is planned for the beginning of 2020. The finished, ultra-modern, five-story building is designed by building specialist Vollack and precisely tailored to the specific needs of laboratory operations.

Fast Motion: 621 Days of Construction Progress in 40 Seconds

It took 621 days from the first photograph to the completion of the exterior facade. The fast motion film shows the progress of the construction phases in 40 seconds.

Site Almost Doubled in Size

The new building has an area of around 15,900 square metres and offers space for the 450 employees who previously worked at Großmoorbogen, around 2 km away from the new building. Eurofins Dr. Specht Laboratorien GmbH, Eurofins Dr. Specht Express GmbH, Eurofins Dr. Specht International GmbH, Eurofins Agroscience Services Chem GmbH and Eurofins BioPharma Product Testing Hamburg GmbH are now carrying out their analyses at the new address, "Am Neuländer Gewerbepark 2-4".

"The move to our own premises not only offers us a high degree of flexibility, but also brings our interdisciplinary network closer together. The short distances and the tailor-made building services concept enable us to achieve exactly the efficiency that is essential for our lean laboratory processes," reports Eurofins Managing Director and construction project manager Dr. Manfred Linkerhägner. The new building in northern Germany is also part of a comprehensive series of global projects for site expansion and modernisation which reflect the rapid organic growth of the Eurofins Group.
