This webinar, consisting of two sessions, will give you an overview of important factors regarding the quality and authenticity of honey.

In session 1, you will get familiar with the current law layed down in the European Honey Directive, including rules on the composition, naming and description of honey. Furthermore, you will be trained on necessary actions to ensure that the honey you harvest, trade, produce, pack or consume meets all legal and specific requirements.

In session 2, our expert will give you an insight into the current market situation regarding honey adulteration. Moreover, you will get an overview of available analysis methods including Eurofins’ newest approach to ensure honey authenticity.

Dr Kurt-Peter Raezke joined Eurofins Food Testing Germany in 2017 and is heading the Eurofins Competence Center for honey and bee products. He has over 30 years of experience in food analysis, thereof over 20 years in the global honey industry with a special focus on the analysis of residues and honey authenticity. Currently, Dr Raezke is also a lecturer for Food Authenticity at the University of Bremerhaven.
