100 days after introduction of limit value: Questions in everyday laboratory work and initial test results

Per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS), the "forever chemicals", have been the focus of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) for several years. Due to their technological properties, they are present in numerous products and are often a component of coated food packaging, textiles and even fire-fighting foams. They are hardly degradable, accumulate in the food chain and are of concern for human health.

Contents of the webinar

  • Application and hazards of PFAS for both humans and the environment
  • Entry pathways in food and feed
  • Ocurrence and presentation of initial study results
  • Legislation: new limit values in the EU
